LIC Management System in C++

A Basic Tool for Policy Data

Hello, if you are looking for a simple program to manage life insurance customer details, here is one I made in C++. I developed this during my BSc in IT in 2008 as an academic project. It allows agents to enter and handle information about their policy holders. The system saves data in a file called ASHU.DAT for easy storage.

This is a straightforward console application that focuses on core functions without extra complexity. It was my first version before I upgraded to a Visual Basic one with more features.

Here are the main functions it includes:

Managing Policy Holders

  • Add a new policy holder with their details.
  • Edit existing records to make changes.
  • Delete records if needed (though not explicitly mentioned, it might be included in basic management).

Searching and Viewing

  • Find a customer by their name.
  • Find a customer by their policy number.
  • Show all records for a complete list.

The program uses C++ for the code and relies on file handling to store and retrieve data.

To run it, you need a system with a C++ compiler, like Turbo C++ or something similar from that time, probably on Windows.

If you want to try it, you can download the file from the link on my site. Just extract and run the executable, or compile the source if provided.

This project helped me learn about file operations in C++ and apply them to a real scenario like insurance data management. If you have questions or need help with something like this, let me know!
